GOLF HOLIDAYS IN CANOUAN ISLAND

Canouan is an Island in the Grenadine & Saint Vincent Archipelago. The island has a hilly interior including the peak of Mount Royal, which offers stunning panoramic views from the summit. Canouan is famed for its superb beaches, you have Ground Bay near Charlestown, South Glossy Bay which is a calm and tranquil beach with lovely views of the Southern Grenadines. Then there is Windward Bay which is well know because it has lots of volcanic rocks on the sands!

The population of Canouan is 12,000 people and the busiest months of the year are January and February as well as the month of May. You can be assured of temperature in the mid 80s all year round, simply idyllic.

FLIGHT INFO

There are no direct flights to Canouan from the UK, the best way to access this Paradise Island is to take the Grenadines Alliance Flights SVG Air service on a 15-seater Twin Otter Propeller Plane from Barbados, or we can organise a Private Jet if your budget is more generous. We would advise customers who are seeking a twin centre stay combining Canouan with Sandy Lane Barbados, to stay on Barbados first and then Canouan.

The VIP Canouan Airport Concierge Team will take care of you on your arrival at Bridgetown airport Barbados and assist you with your baggage transfer. The flight time from Barbados to Canouan is nearly 1 hour. Alternatively, you could fly from Grenada to Canouan, as Virgin Atlantic fly direct to Grenada now from London Gatwick, this is only 40 minutes island to island. In terms of the UK flights to Barbados you have a choice of Virgin Atlantic from London Heathrow or Virgin Atlantic from London Gatwick.

WEATHER

It is true to point out that the weather on Canouan is superb year-round. It is basically hot all year with an average temperature of 85 degrees. The driest period of the year with the least rainfall is from February to April. The month of August is the most humid and the month of February is the least humid. The busiest 3 months for tourism are January, February and the month of May.

CURRENCY

The local currency on Canouan is the East Caribbean Dollar XCD. There are about 2.7 XCD = $1 US. However, if you are on holiday on Canouan it is useful to know that US Dollars are widely accepted for transactions and tips.
