RAFFLES
Closed for 2 years for a major renovation programme, Raffles reopened in August 2019 with all its sumptuous bedrooms having been newly renovated, to make the hotel much more contemporary and brighter throughout.
This legendary and historic building has been open for 128 years since 1891 and is indeed world famous as the place to visit whilst in the Far East if you have plenty of money!
The hotel is now owned by the Accor chain and is located opposite the Fairmont Hotel, on Stamford Road and Beach Road (where the splendid entrance is located). The rooms at the hotel are generally split between two sections, the less expensive Courtyard Suites and the more peaceful exclusive Palm Tree Court Suites.
In total, there are 10 restaurants spread across this elegant resort, where the service levels excel in all aspects. The lobby and front entrance stun the senses, the most beautiful architecture and electric ambience, there is often a harp player performing in the lobby, where many people come to have afternoon tea as special treat. The hotel magically has maintained its ambience from 100 years ago, indeed the doorman looks like he could be working at the Taj Mahal.
The Long Bar at Raffles is an institution, the place to be seen in Singapore having a quiet relaxing drink in a lovely al fresco environment. The hotel has a first-class gymnasium, spa and an outdoor swimming pool. The lead in category suites are about 50 square metres with 4 poster beds. Offering a small living area, stand-alone copper bath tubs with walk in showers.
The Sentosa Golf Club and the Laguna National Golf Clubs are about 20 -30 minutes drive from Raffles, the cream of golf in the city of Singapore and on the exclusive Sentosa Island.
