RESORT OVERVIEW
The Shangri-La is located on the east coast of Mauritius and is one of the most privileged spots in Mauritius, because of its unique peninsula and close proximity to the two islands of Ilot Mangenie and Ile aux Cerfs. Situated overlooking Trou D’Eau Douce Bay, the position is spectacular, indeed you have two choices of location for your accommodation, Frangipani Island, or Hibiscus/Coral Beach. Frangipani is only accessible via a bridge over the estuary!
The resort is unique in that all the bedrooms have ocean view, or beach front positions, so you will always be able to enjoy the view from your room. From the golfing perspective residents of the Shangri-La will enjoy the privilege of playing free daily golf on the Bernhard Langer designed golf course Ile Aux Cerfs, which is only accessible via a boat from the resort’s own jetty, this journey takes about 15 minutes. This is like millionaire’s golf, as only a small percentage of the guests at the hotel would be golfers! What a privilege!
The resort has 4 restaurants for dining in the evenings, all of which have their own unique style and ambience, with totally contrasting cuisines. Japanese, Indian, Asian and International buffet, with lots of show cooking and varied themes at Le Bazaar.
The Spa and gymnasium are worth a big mention as they are superb, indeed many top sportsmen stay here because they are so good, they can keep fit and recuperate on holiday. They are both located on the amazing Frangipani Island, where the most iconic bedrooms are located and the cool, sophisticated contemporary restaurant Republik.

Directors Tips – Book the junior suites on Frangipani Island to enjoy some excellent special privileges, although half board is not mandatory, you will save considerably if you pre-book it with.
