The hotel had 4 superb restaurants including Le Bazar, the impressive international buffet, the Kushi iconic Japanese restaurant, Republik the cool and sophisticated grill restaurant which has live music and DJs most evenings and the excellent Indian restaurant Safran. The main restaurant Le Bazar is known as a food theatre, which is amusing, but is much more than a standard buffet, exciting themes and show cooking from all over the world, with lots of choice of seating inside and out! The water sports at the Shangri-La are first class, the hotel has a top class gymnasium, Chi Spa, T Club for kids and Teens Club. Tennis courts and 18 hole golf course with Academy and Clubhouse. Exclusive Island and Beach Club at Ilot Mangenie – the nearest island to Le Touessrok, accessible by boat from the resort’s jetty.

One great attraction to the resort is the fact that all the bedrooms offer sea view, there are in effect 3 beach locations because of the shape of the resort and the fact that Le Touessrok is on a unique peninsula, choose between Coral Beach, Hibiscus Beach or the premium Frangipani Island. The lead in room category at the Shangri-La is the Deluxe room categories to be found on Hibiscus and Coral Beach, you can pay a little more to be on the beach front ground floor location. Whilst the junior suites are located on Frangipani Island some with direct beach access and some on the first floor. These rooms often are designed in such a way that the bathrooms are located in an open plan style whereby they are located above the bedroom area and you can lie in your bath tub with an outstanding view across to the ocean beyond the bedroom. Frangipani Island is only accessible via a bridge, which crosses the estuary and is on the point of the peninsula, this is the most iconic spot to be on the resort. All bedrooms have a deep soak bath tub and separate shower, with all bedrooms offering sea view. The rooms are fitted with the most contemporary equipment and are extremely stylish and chic. If your budget allows you can enjoy the amazing Ocean View Suite, Shangri-La Suite or the Beach Villa, all of which are outstanding units in beautiful locations.

Ile aux Cerfs was designed by Bernhard Langer originally in the late 90s and was tweaked in 2015-16 season to make the course more playable. In the early days it was just so difficult, accentuated by such small greens and tight drives. Many improvements have been made to allow the visitor to play more to their handicap and not feel they have been beaten up.

The course is laid on the Ile aux Cerfs Island threading its way close to the ocean on the front nine, but with mangrove swamps and pine trees making it extremely beautiful, you can see some amazing wild life on the course. As you approach the back nine the course starts to get more and more exciting and when you hit the par 5 11^th you get unrestricted ocean views on holes 11 – 15 which take the breath away. The course has some water features like at 9, but it is not a major hazard on the golf course, nor is the bunkering a big threat, it is just accuracy which is the most important.
