South Point is a luxury boutique hotel, ideal for customers who like to be located in walking distance of a wide array of bars and restaurants in the most chic seaside town on the island of Antigua. The property is unique and the best of its kind on the Island, a refuge from the nightlife of English Harbour, so close but a little Paradise also.

The 23 luxury suites are spacious and incredibly well equipped with oodles of space to relax, they even have their own kitchens as well as lounges and generous balconies. All rooms have views of the waterfront and the Falmouth Harbour Marina in English Harbour.

The excellence of the accommodation is matched by the staff and the high levels of service at South Point in what is a unique and privately-owned beachfront property, boasting its own small beach below the suites, with an elegant pool and terraced area for sunbathing. The hotel is subtle, boasting vibrant colour schemes throughout, offering the visitor an Urban Chic Vibe ambience. It is unlikely that you will see families with children staying at South Point, it is mostly couples and occasionally used for businessman, although there is no conference facility. If you fancy a stroll to some different scenery from the hotel’s own private beach, you can access beautiful Pigeon Beach in 5 minutes and Galleon Beach which is a 5 minute drive away.

What is lovely here is that you are right in the heart of things in English Harbour, yet you have a lovely secluded location also, the best of both worlds. No doubt every visitor will love the vibe at Maia at South Point for dining and cocktails, but you will probably eat out 7 times within a 10 night stay and find new venues every evening, the wonderful marina is brimming with the most luxurious yachts in the Caribbean.

The Resort does not have a Spa as such, but does have a lovely small private beach with easy access from your selected suite accommodation, the focal point of the resort’s amenities is Maia at South Point, combining a restaurant and lounge area together with a cocktail bar and decking. Here you have a fine restaurant albeit relatively casual with an eclectic mix of Asian, Mediterranean and Middle Eastern Cuisine. The venue also boasts fine quality seafood dishes, you can enjoy the Restaurant Deck which is suspended over water. In addition, you have the Sushi Bar and the lounge which overlooks the Falmouth Harbour Marina. The venue also excels in its cocktail menu selection and ambience. The relative lack of amenities at South Point is valid because of its wonderful location, so close to walk to all the best fashionable bar and restaurants of the renowned English Harbour.

There are essentially only two room categories to choose from at South Point, the one-bedroom deluxe suites, of which there are 20 units, which are located on the ground and first floor of the buildings and 3 x two bedroom Penthouse Suites which are located on the top floor of the building with double expansive balconies.

There are 23 Condo style water-front suites all overlooking the Caribbean Sea from their individual balconies. Some suites also overlook the gorgeous Falmouth Harbour Marina. All suites have immediate access to the resort’s main pool and private beach.

The one-bedroom deluxe suites have a full kitchen, outdoor dining, sun loungers, an interior lounge, bathroom with walk-in shower, double basin sinks and an impressive balcony. These can accommodate up to 2 adults and 1 child.

The two-bedroom penthouse suites have a kitchen, 2 interior lounges, outdoor dining and indoor dining space and a massive double sized balcony with the best view from the top floor locations. These can accommodate up to 4 adults and 2 children.

Antigua has just two golf courses on the Island, both of which are great fun courses to play, but not Championship standard. What we say to our clients is don’t book Antigua on the strength of its golf, book this destination on the strength of the superb hotel and its brilliant location and because it is such a wonderful Island to enjoy, the golf is of secondary significance. Jolly Harbour Golf Club is close by and has lovely sea views, relatively flat and par 71 it is a fund course to play, but not very challenging, perhaps. Whilst Cedar Valley is the stronger course, set in more hilly mature woodland, a bigger test of golf and normally maintained to better levels of standard than Jolly Harbour. Neither golf course is expensive to play compared to other Caribbean Islands.
