GOLF IN CYPRUS – A REAL FORCE AGAIN IN 2018

This resort which was established in 2005, is being reborn in 2018 when the golf course reopens on 19 January, after almost 8 months of closure. There has been  a massive upgrade undertaken to the golf course in all aspects. The course has also been rebranded to be called the PGA National Golf Club of Cyprus, an elevation of status with the PGA of Europe now assisting in the future. The golf course has been reshaped around the greens, tees and all bunkers with new greens replacing the old ones and new white sand imported from North Africa at great expense..

The new look is extremely impressive and reestablishes the resort at the pinnacle of European Golf Resorts once again, maximising the original superb design by Cabell Robinson of 2004.

The golf course has so many great holes, as it threads its way along hillsides on both sides of a massive ravine, boasting ocean views throughout, but the stand out holes are holes 7, 8 and 9. The 7th requires an incredible one shotter over a wide valley or canyon, there is no cop out shot, it is a stunning hole with a green perched on a plateau above the canyon. Whilst the 8th faces the sea and plays downhill and then up hill to a raised infinity green with the ocean beyond. Playing into the win it is often a really challenging hole. The 9th hole is a superb dog leg around the hotel with the sea on the left!
