Marine & Lawn Hotels and ResortsThe Classic Golf Tour Of Scotland
with Marine & Lawn Hotel Group

Introduction to Marine and Lawn Hotels & Resorts

This new hotel group owned by an American Fund Management Group have acquired 3 landmark Scottish Golf Hotels in the last 18 months with the aim of improving them all to the high-quality accommodation, service and cuisine they have always merited. Massive investment has been pumped into all 3 hotels since 2020, which will allow them to reach excellence by 2022 or before. The locations of all 3 hotels are second to none – they are all idyllic for the discerning golf visitor, in close proximity to classic tests of golf, with the highest reputation and world ranking. It is great news all round and Island Golf Holidays have immense pleasure in promoting a three-centre tour to properties all owned by the same holding Company, with a guarantee of excellence throughout your golfing tour of Scotland.

The Marine Troon lies besides the 18th fairway of Open Venue Royal Troon and always hosts the players and officials during the most famous Major Championship, years of neglect and under investment is now yesterday’s news and we look forward to the new high standards being achieved by Marine and Lawn Hotels & Resorts here in South Ayrshire on the west coast of Scotland. Royal Troon sits comfortably in the World’s Top 100 courses.

The Marine North Berwick, which has so many similarities to Marine Troon is exactly the same in terms of age and evolution, years of under-investment and now being taken to the quality it deserves to offer the golfing tourist a wonderful and traditional experience. Lying close to the last 3 holes of the stunning West Links North Berwick, the hotel stands proudly beside this famous links with marvellous sea views in the same way the Marine Troon does.

The West Links North Berwick also is highly ranked in the world’s Top 100 courses, even higher than Royal Troon.

The Rusacks Hotel of St Andrews has an even more awe-inspiring location than the two Marine properties, lying beside the 18th fairway of the famous Old Course, every golfer’s Holy Grail golf links, the Mecca of every golfer on the planet, the hotel is undergoing major improvements also with an extensive new wing being added, with a Spa and a new restaurant also. This will transform what was already a classic hotel with a unique and historic ambience with many rooms overlooking the Old Course. The Old Course is of course always ranked in the world’s Top 10 courses, but realistically the only way of getting a tee time in 2022 will be via the famous Ballot, it will be easier in 2021 with the likely lack of overseas visitors, due to ongoing Travel Restrictions caused by the Pandemic.

The Marine North Berwick

The Marine North Berwick is currently undergoing an extensive renovation reopening in summer 2021, this reimagined hotel will reopen with 84 bedrooms, including 8 luxury suites, an all-day dining restaurant & bar, an indoor-outdoor spa with a heated 18m swimming pool, hydra pool and fitness centre, sauna and steam rooms. Visiting golfers will have preferential use of the hotel’s own putting and chipping green and access to a secure golf club storage facility and drying room.  The hotel lies alongside the 16th hole of the famous West Links North Berwick with lovely sea views beyond. Exciting developments for late 2021 and 2022 will put this famous old property (opened originally in 1876) into the higher echelons of golf hotels in the UK.

Rusacks St Andrews

This distinguished and iconic property lying beside the most famous 18th hole on the planet, on the famous Old Course. The hotel will feature 119 completely renovated rooms, alongside a 4-bedroom luxury townhouse, ideal for parties of 8. The new look Rusacks will include inspiration from the energy and spirit of golf legend Old Tom Morris with rich fabrics, dynamic plaids, coastal positioning and the towns legendary golf traditions. The cuisine combines superb Scottish produce, with local beef and sustainable fish from local ports. The new look Rusacks will include the new rooftop restaurant and bar.

Marine Troon

This classic old property (originally opened in 1897) is an 89-bedroom hotel, benefitting from a refurbishment of the Arran Bar, 1897 restaurant and a high proportion of its bedrooms. Many of the rooms and suites do overlook the coastline and Royal Troon Golf Course. The Marine Troon really is the ideal place to stay to enjoy the very best of golf in the West of Scotland, with Royal Troon, Old Prestwick, Western Gailes, Dundonald and Glasgow Gailes and only 30 minutes away the famous courses at Turnberry also.

The Marine Troon is set in the heart of Troon overlooking the Firth of Clyde, the spa & health club offers hotel guests a range of impressive amenities including full fitness suite, squash, heated indoor pool, steam room, sauna and jacuzzi.

Trump Turnberry Resort

This famous landmark building remains the most iconic golf property in Scotland sitting high up on a ridge way above the 45 holes of golf below which stretch out between the hotel and the Firth of Clyde coastline. The hotel has had lots of new investment since the Trump organisation took over several years ago. The bedrooms and public areas primarily, but more recently since the start of 2020, the Spa, Pool and Gymnasium have all been recently transformed, offering superb quality amenities. The luxury rooms which offer ocean view are outstanding in the main building, whilst for families and groups of 6 or 8 + there are some good options in Lodges and Villas down below the hotel close to the road and the Clubhouse.
