The Tour starts on the Mull of Kintyre close to Campbelltown with a short stay at the stunning location of Machrihanish Village and the Ugadale Hotel & Cottages, which are located right opposite the Old Machrihanish Golf Links, just a 2-minute walk across to the most spectacular first tee, which requires a 180 yard carry over the inlet.
Staying at the Ugadale allows you to enjoy both the Old Machrihanish Course and the superb Machrihanish Dunes Links, which is 10 minutes away.
The journey continues after 3 nights at Machrihanish, with a 2-hour ferry journey from Kennacraig to Port Askaig on Islay at 15.45 hrs, with a short drive to the idyllic golf resort at The Machrie. The hotel is right on this wonderful Links which opened in 1891 originally, but was recently revamped to a meticulous amount of detail, bringing it up to the very best. After 3 nights at the Machrie where you have the chance not just to play an awesome links on site, but visit a number of very fine whisky distilleries including Lagavulin, Ardbeg, Caol y Ila, Laphroaig and several more, you head to the wild island of Jura still in the Inner Hebrides.
