Golf Holidays in the Atlantic Ocean
This is one of our biggest areas of our entire portfolio and includes three islands in the Canaries, notably Tenerife, Fuerteventura and Gran Canaria. These islands lie nearly 2 hours south of mainland Spain, or on a latitude with Casablanca in Morocco. This is essentially why they are so popular, as the climate is just perfect, pretty much year-round and it is far warmer than mainland Spain.
Tenerife and Gran Canaria are the biggest islands and indeed have very varied climates from north to south, the coastal areas in the south and west are very much hotter and drier all year round, whilst you can do some amazing sight-seeing in the nature reserves in the middle of the islands. Tenerife and Gran Canaria have the strongest golf courses for sure.
La Gomera Island which sits opposite Tenerife off its west coast is a tropical paradise and encompasses a Unesco World Heritage site, rain forest and spectacular mountain and canyons scenery, a real one off secret escape venue.
Fuerteventura is a fascinating island as it is contrasting, much flatter, but with some amazing areas of sand dunes and a great coastline, which is more accessible than its neighbours.
The island of Madeira lies north west of the Canaries, some 2 hours south-east of the coast of Portugal, another mountainous island, with a stunning tradition for producing fine wines and has some beautiful botanical gardens. The featured resort has the best golf course on the island and is close enough to dine out in the resort of Funchal, on the famous Palheiro Estate.
The newest addition to the Atlantic Ocean is the beautiful Island of Bermuda which sits just 2 hours from New York off the east coast of the USA. This remarkable destination is one of the worlds most beautiful islands, even in comparison to all the islands in the Caribbean. There are stunning ocean views at every twist and every turn, from east to west, the coastline is exceptional. Our featured resorts and golf courses are all extremely eye catching each has their own unique charm and style, the classic Cambridge Beaches property is made up of stunning Bermuda Cottage accommodation on a large peninsula, the Rosewood Bermuda is the islands finest property, but also the most expensive, located close to Tuckers Town in the exclusive east coast of Bermuda on Tuckers Point Golf Course, next to the amazing Mid Ocean course.
The Grotto Bay Beach Resort is a lovely property, small enough to be intimate with a great ambience and with lovely views north, north west across the estuary close to the ancient capital St George. The Pompano Beach Club lies on the outstanding Port Royal Course on the south coast, with (like Grotto Bay) – all bedrooms facing the ocean and the best sunsets possible!
