Welcome to Singapore
Singapore lies in a privileged location on the most southern tip of the Northern Hemisphere and very close to the Equator, crucially it is not subject to the monsoon like weather that one can find in some parts of the Far East like the Philippines, in fact it is never threatened by cyclones.
For centuries, the harbour has been a melting pot for trade across the world – a place where countries exchanged spices, silks, textiles and much more. In these modern times Singapore continues to be a massive trading centre for commodities and most major banks and investment houses have a significant presence in the financial district of the city. Singapore is vibrant and colourful with the Marina Bay and the river flowing through the heart of the City. Indeed, the Fullerton Bay Hotel and its sister property the Fullerton are at the very heart of the action and in the most exciting district to explore along the Water Front.
The cuisine of Singapore is a fusion of all the best dishes of the world, where east meets west combining the best Malaysian, Chinese, Indian, Thai and European cooking. A wonderful variety of flavours and choices of mouth-watering plates.
The variety of hotels on our portfolio include the top 2 hotels in the 5-star luxury market including Raffles Singapore which reopened in August 2019 and Fullerton Bay.
The golf in Singapore is exceptional, it is top class, but very expensive, the 2 venues we would recommend are the Sentosa Golf Club on Sentosa Island and Laguna National both with 36 holes of top Championship Golf. The courses excel in all aspects with the highest maintenance standards and breath-taking views, challenging and scenic combined.
Singapore is an Island Nation and it is also a stepping stone to longer stay holidays to Bintan Island in Indonesia accessible by passenger ferry and also Langkawi an island off Malaysia’s west coast just south of Phuket, Thailand.
Singapore is 7 hours ahead of GMT London. The flight time is a shade over 13 hours.
