Barbados is located in the Eastern Caribbean. It is an independent British Commonwealth Nation with a massive influence still with the UK. Arguably Barbados is the most beautiful island in the West Indies with a rich and fascinating history.

The Island is 21 miles long and only 9 hours from the UK, it is 5 hours behind GMT.

Our new programme launched in 2021 includes three very different resorts, including The Sandy Lane Hotel, Turtle Beach and Colony Club by Elegant Hotels. All with golf packages available. The prestigious and luxurious Resort at Sandy Lane has the glorious Green Monkey, Country Club and the Old Nine, whilst at Turtle Beach golf is available at Barbados Golf Club and when staying at the Colony Club you can enjoy golf and special tee time access on Royal Westmoreland. Apes Hill another superb golf course in Barbados closed in 2019-20, but is being revamped and refinanced hopefully in preparation for the winter of 2021-22.

The weather in Barbados is superb most of the year and the best deals can be had from mid-April to the end of June and in September and October. Availability of flights and rooms is most challenging from December to March, particularly.

FLIGHT INFO

The main two carriers to Barbados are of course Virgin Atlantic and British Airways. British Airways are flying regularly from both London Heathrow and London Gatwick to Grantley Adams airport, Bridgetown. Virgin Atlantic fly both from London Heathrow and from Manchester, Heathrow is close to a daily service and Manchester is between 3 – 4 days a week depending on the time of the year.

The routing is direct from all the airports, Heathrow, Gatwick and Manchester and it is a 9-hour flight, with a 5-hour change of time, meaning it is always a day flight outbound and a night flight coming home.

British Airways offer 3 cabins, World Traveller, World Traveller Plus and Club World, whilst Virgin Atlantic offer 3 cabins also, Economy, Premium Economy and Upper Class. Because of the prestigious high-quality hotels on the Island Barbados attracts a lot of Club Class passengers, so we always highly recommend booking Upper Class or Club World as early as possible. Premium Economy fares seem very good currently.

WEATHER

The weather in Barbados is exceptional year-round. The temperature rarely drops below 25 degrees and the wet season is supposedly between June and November with the dry season between December and April. The hotel prices reflect these differences; however, it must be said that in the June to November period, wet season is very misleading. There are short sharp showers and still much more sunshine than most places and plenty of heat! Ideal for golf and enjoying the island, or sunbathing, the afternoons especially!

CURRENCY

The currency in Barbados is the Barbados Dollar, however, the US Dollar is accepted everywhere so don’t bother trying to take local currency with you, you can always change some US Dollars locally. All hotel contracts are delivered in US Dollars and invoiced in US Dollars.
