GOLF RESORTS IN MAJORCA

Golf Holidays To Majorca

Majorca has been popular as a golf break destination for nearly 40 years now. In the early days, the only golf courses on the island were Son Vida, Santa Ponsa and Poniente. In 2017, there are more like 20 golf courses to choose from, including the above mentioned.

Santa Ponsa and Poniente are close to the unique adult only hotel we feature, at Port Adriano by PURE SALT. Whilst Son Vida is one of three outstanding resort courses at Son Vida, just 10 minutes north west of the city of Palma – this exceptional Starwood Resort has two superb hotels, notably the Castillo Son Vida and the Arabella Sheraton Mallorca. Son Muntaneer on this complex gets our vote as the best in Mallorca.

The joy of staying on the Son Vida Estate, is that you can dine out in Palma, which is a short 10-minute downhill taxi ride away into a City rich in culture, restaurants and tapas bars, in that sense this venue is unique. If you prefer being close to the Ocean we have the adult only boutique PURE SALT owned properties, at Playa de Palma and Port Adriano, one is basically beach front, next to a lovely sea promenade and the other is overlooking a yachting marina and harbour!

Majorca is a wonderful venue for a high-quality golfing and cultural break – we would just avoid 2-3 months of the year when it is a bit nippy! ie December – February! If you want a short break in the winter choose the Castillo Son Vida or Sheraton Arabella options.

The island of Majorca is so well served by UK flights from most, if not all UK main and provincial airports, there are too many to list in the context of this introduction.

However, we would recommend Jet2.com and Easyjet, particularly as they offer great flight times, good in-flight service and staff and a reliable reputation for being on time. There are of course many other airlines flying into Palma such as Monarch, Thomas Cook and Thomson. However, for golfers, Easyjet and Jet2.com offer the best options for booking golf club carriage and extra leg room seats etc.

During the low season from November to March we would say there are limited flight options compared to the rest of the year.

The weather and climate of Majorca is simply superb from May to September, we would add that the months of March – April and October to mid-November are also excellent golfing months, although not great for sun bathing!

Temperatures vary from 4-5 degrees in January and December, up to 35 degrees in June – September.  The best weather is in and around Palma, which is where our selected venues can be found. The north of the island is windier and can be more changeable.

The currency of Majorca is the Euro.
