Welcome to Langkawi Malaysia
Langkawi is a stunning tropical island located off the north-west of the Malaysian coast and less than 1 hour from Kuala Lumpur and about 30 minutes’ flight north of the island of Penang.
Unlike Penang Langkawi is a peaceful haven of an island and has many protected areas which are UNESCO World Heritage Sites, such as the Datai nestled in the beautiful north west of the Island. The Datai is the most scenic part of the entire island, whose mass is covered by impressive mountains in the middle and wonderful ancient Rain Forests which sweep down to the ocean. The Datai has a wonderful outlook to the north, from where you can see other islands including parts of the south of Thailand.
The Datai is one of the world’s finest luxury holiday venues and is one of a handful which are located in the midst of a natural Rain Forest environment. The award-winning beach at the Datai is just 10 minutes’ walk below the main part of the hotel and is ranked as the World’s 8th best beach of the world by National Geographic Magazine. The wild habitat of the Rain Forest means that during your stay you can see some of the rarest species on the planet – none more special than the Duskey Eyed Monkeys. A holiday here is special because of the natural environment and the chance to share it with such rare bird and mammals, as well as enjoying the best of service imaginable and the stunning Rain Forest golf course designed by Ernie Els – the Els Tulek course which is as exhilarating design as you can find anywhere!
Malaysia and Langkawi specifically offer the visitor the ultimate one stop holiday – however we would recommend combining a stay here with Singapore, or the Desaru Coast and or the stunning Island of Bintan in Indonesia.
