RESORT OVERVIEW
This fine hotel is one of the finest Beachcomber resorts worldwide. The resort is tucked away in the north-west of the Island, which benefits from the best year-round climate, as it is totally sheltered from the south easterly trade winds. The resort is just 15 minutes south west of the most well-known seaside resort – Grand Baie, which has lots of night life and a wonderful yachting harbour and beach, so if you fancy an evening out, this is the only resort which allows you to do that in Mauritius.
The hotel is just over 1 hour from Mauritius airport and is now in our golf resort portfolio, because of the opening in November 2017 of the superb new golf course called Le Mont Choisy, which is located only 7 minute’s transfer from the hotel. Beachcomber’s Trou aux Biches has been appointed the golf courses’ closest hotel partner, as there will be no hotel on site.
Trou aux Biches is a wonderful all round resort, set out over lush tropical gardens with several crescents, all of which have their own pools in their midst, giving 6 different locations amongst the palm trees. This gives the resort the sensation of having so much natural space and privacy. The beach at Trou aux Biches is sensational – long and with pristine white sand, superb for water-sports and sea swimming – it faces the west so the sunsets here are similar to Le Paradis and are remarkable.
The hotel has a fine array of top quality restaurants in the evenings, including an Italian, India, Thai, Fish, A la carte and buffet with superb pool and ocean views.
The rooms vary in terms of style and location, but one can say they are all suites, the smallest room category is 63 square metres and beautifully appointed overlooking the gardens. Special mention of the tropical suites which are exceptional and have private pool, terrace with ocean or garden view!
