Arrived this afternoon.  Luxury transfer from the north.  Superb speedy check in to wonderful suite in calle del mar.  Hotel and resort much livelier and more attentive. Vast tidy up of the resort generally - best we have seen since our first time in 2016.  See how golf course is tomorrow.

All good in Tenerife. Weather great today for our first game of golf. Had bit of rain yesterday but it didn’t keep us in😂. We have made a booking for tomorrow at rosso sul mare so I’m glad it’s on your list😂😂. Have been to mirador before but will try and go again and will definitely try your other suggestions. Thank you for contacting us with them. What is not to be happy with when you have sun, golf and good food and wine!! Bliss 😂😂

The trip was fantastic, as we knew it would be. The standard of service at Abama really is first class, right the way through from the front door concierge, reception staff, services concierge, restaurant staff, pool staff, golf club staff to the housekeeping staff. All were exceptionally helpful and courteous, and assisted with any minor requests we had.

We only had one minor issue with the room set-up for Lyn and I; the room was a King bed room and, due to a slight flight delay and our late arrival on the Tuesday night, we decided to stay in the allocated room as they were unable to provide us with a Twin room on the same floor or same part of the hotel as the rest of our group (we were all on the same floor in a run of rooms, which was ideal). It took another request after our golf on the Wednesday for them to at least have the King bed prepared with single bedding.

On the plus side, we were able to secure all five rooms for a late checkout on Tuesday which was very helpful and most welcome.

The airport transfers were as efficient as always and no issues to report.

The golf was as good as we remembered, and the course was, in the main, deserted except for the Saturday & Sunday. The caddy master and staff attended to our every need. We could have changed the tee times if we had chosen to do so, which we did not, and the caddy master even remembered me from previous visits! I don’t know if that is a good or a bad thing! 🤷‍♀️🤣 The course maintenance that you had advised may commence on Monday 12th did not take place, and we were even permitted to play on Tuesday (we played 9 holes to pass a couple of hours), prior to our departure.

We dined at all the restaurants, with exception of Kabuki which was closed for September, and had fabulous meals at all of them.

We never left the hotel resort - we had no need to when everything we needed was on our doorstep - the weather was fabulous all week, and despite playing golf every day everyone felt we had plenty of ‘chillax’ time either at the pool or in their single rooms (definitely  the way ahead for most of our ageing group). In summary we all had a fantastic time.

Thank you for email and we did indeed have a great holiday.
Firstly weather was excellent for the week. Didn’t see a cloud.
One day was very windy and made the golf very tricky!
All your recommendations were ideal. The accommodation was great and easy access to pool and it’s endless supply of wine. We felt standard of all the food was excellent. A couple of the restaurants were shut but did not impact much on us.
It’s A lovely golf course. Enjoyable for Lynne yet quite a challenge for me. Especially lightening fast greens with some challenging ( if not impossible) pin positions.
We played one afternoon when pace of play was painful so chose to play at 8.30 other days which was much better.
The transfers were excellent punctual and felt luxurious.
We really enjoyed the resort and will surely return and also recommend it (and yourself!) to friends.

Flight home into storm Ciara was bit scary. Got down on 2nd attempt with threat of diversion to Manchester looming.

These were the notes we made the penultimate day of our holiday for a survey which the Hotel promised but we didn’t receive.

Good

Pool service was excellent

Concierge service good

Golf service excellent

Room cleaning good but inconsistent in what was replaced and put out each day, including 1 chocolate for the whole period

Check in was good

Shuttle service to golf was good

Use of our own buggy for the resort was essential to get from our room to restaurants, etc. We could not have managed without it.

 

Thanks for the feedback o your first visit to Abama, think perhaps that a smaller boutique hotel may suit you for another trip.

We are back home safely.

We want to thank you very much for organising our holiday, everything was just perfect; right from the beginning of our holiday to the end, the transfers were amazing and the hotel was just fantastic, great location.

The staff were so great there, always smiling and very helpful,  Our room was perfect, the restaurants were amazing,  we ate at MB for Peppes birthday: and had the taster menu. cannot fault this beautiful Hotel, would recommend to anyone.

Thank you once again and hopefully will book with you on our next holiday.

Delighted that you had such a super holiday Rossana - Abama really has something to offer every type of customer and at any time of the year, it is brilliant in summer and winter.

I hope you are well.  I just wanted to say again how much we loved the Abama especially the room (127, end suite nearest beach road end) it really was superb and so comfortable.  Breakfasts were great in Mirador, slight contra temps with regard to orange juice as they kept insisting the juice they served was fresh when it wasn’t or didn’t taste like it, in the end we got ours freshly squeezed !  Service was impecable.  We ate in Verona and 20/20, both were very good but thought 40euros cheapest bottle of wine a bit steep especially in Spain.  We raided the local supermarket who had a fabulous Rose for 2.15 euros !  Had room service a couple of nights and a couple of nights picnics !!  The room was too lovely not to get the maximum out of it.  Also ate a couple of nights in San Juan as the taxi was so cheap - fabulous restaurant called “Marsala” down by the Port but a bit smarter than the others, quite limited menu but it was spotlessly clean and absolutely delicious food.

Golf course was amazing, stunning views and so well maintained.  Probably a bit too challenging for me (not your problem) but got round and thoroughly enjoyed it.  We were so lucky with the weather, wall to wall sunshine every day.

Thank you for organising our trip so efficiently, it really was a wonderful holiday.  I may have a couple of minor questions on upcoming trip, I have received the documentation thank you.

I am delighted that you enjoyed the Adult Only section at the Ritz-Carlton, Abama - Tagor !! It is like a boutique hotel within a large resort!

We thoroughly enjoyed our second visit to Abama.

We were fortunate to have a room upgrade to a garden villa which had wonderful sea views. Also gave us the opportunity to breakfast at El Mirador which was very pleasant.

There were no problems with the hotel, staff, cuisine, cleanliness etc all very good.
The adult only pool was very busy and tricky to find a spot later in the day.

As you know we ate in most of the restaurants good choice, service and cuisine.
.
We had a very pleasant evening in MB and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
They even produced a birthday cake for Peter which was lovely.

The golf experience, all the golf assistants were very friendly and helpful. The course was in good condition, it’s just a pity that the a few people do not appreciate looking after the greens! Having unlimited golf was brilliant and even managed 27 holes one day.

The weather was perfect for golf a good a mix of sun and cloud temperature was perfect.

We would go back to Abama but would probably choose B&B to give us flexibility for going out and about.

Once again we have been very happy with the personal service we have received from you and look forward to booking with you again.

Thanks for the feedback Sarah, there are a few restaurants down in Playa San Juan, much less expensive but not with the same quality, nice for a change on some evenings, it is only a 5 minute taxi ride away

Abama was great and the golf course superb.

No real issues with the maintenance week activities which and helped slow the greens down a bit, They must be very difficult at their peak condition. Starters and marshals were very helpful.

Golf club bar and restaurant views were spectacular and level of service was excellent. I played with different opponents each day everyone was very friendly . If you did not get on the course before 10am it was taking about 5 hours to get round. This happened to me on day 2 but the starter was very accommodating and slotted me in early for the remaining rounds.

First 3 days weather was not the best. Overcast and a bit windy. Perfect for golf but Lindsay was a bit disappointed as she had to cover up due to low temperatures. Cheered up to usual temperatures for the last 4 days which was great. Adult only pool down at Mirador was a great spot and very relaxing.

 

Hotel service was excellent and restaurant quality very good. Hotel courtesy bus to the golf course was very good and on demand. Two star MB restaurant experience on my birthday was fantastic. The private beach and beach club/bar were first class.
