Yes, we were delayed an hour and a half on return and had to sit in the plane all that time and wait for a slot to fly. The outward journey was fine though.

The Elba was as good as ever with friendly staff, comfortable, well appointed room and a well maintained golf course. We both played much better golf in the warm on a course that was neither ridden with bald patches or soggy with rain. It was a delight!! We also met up with our friend from 5 years ago so that was a bonus.

Many thanks for all your efforts in getting our holiday sorted and of course our bottle of champagne.🍾 I’m sure we’ll be requiring your services again later in the year. You SO take the hassle out of booking a holiday.

Many thanks for your email.  Had a great time thanks.  The weather was amazing and better than last year which is always a bonus.  Lots of sunshine and not as windy as last year. Really enjoyed it.  The course was in good condition and Salinas was better too as there was quite a bit of growth as they had had a fair bit of rain before we arrived.

Alan played well.  He is a great team player and always seems to perform best in those formats!

Our room was fabulous.  We had 222 so on the sunny side and we really felt so comfortable there.  The staff are great there and so welcoming.  The food was fine but it could vary. The buffets were always great but I know that Alan found the steak difficult each time he ordered it.  We enjoyed the fish dishes and often had the special for that day.  It was all very flexible and we could always order extra vegetables etc and the staff were keen to make sure we were happy.

I wish we were still there.  Landed in snow, car covered in snow but at least it wasn’t freezing for the drive home.  We were very happy with Jet2 by the way.  They seem to be very well organised.

Yes we had a lovely holiday thank you. Everything went smoothly with the arrangements, thank you for sorting out everything so well and directing us to a hotel/golf course which fitted our requirements very well.

If it helps I will give bullet points of our thoughts on the hotel/golf course:

Hotel - exceeded our expectations

Friendly and efficient staff (special mention to assistant manager Pilar who leads with great customer service)
Food excellent.
Room and bathroom spacious and enormous comfy bed. Lovely golf course view as requested (Pilar gave us a choice of 2 rooms, each with a slightly different aspect).
Low key entertainment most evenings - pleasant while having a post dinner drink or two.
Enjoyed a light lunch and beer after golf on the terrace overlooking the range.
We only ventured out once, the Hotel and grounds are so nice. Coastal area is the usual 'touristy' shops/bars.
Clients were from a selection of European countries and were mainly couples aged 50+ , no large groups of golfers.
The hotel is a traditional style (as you know) and may not appeal to those who prefer super modern and shiny. We loved the traditional feel even though some might comment it being slightly faded.

Golf Course - good holiday course - we played every day and enjoyed it.

Fairways and greens good.
Staff in pro shop and on course starters/marshalls all very helpful and efficient. Tee times worked as booked, we were paired up with other golfers which wasn't a problem.
Bunkers poor by UK standards. No sand as such just hard sandy ground, but we just played the worst ones as GUR and got used to hitting out of the semi OK ones.
We did hire a buggy after the first day as the last few holes are a bit of a climb/walk to tee.
Main downside to the course is that from the yellow/white tees some of the tee positions have had to be moved to odd places because its apparent that they have had issues with balls being hit into adjacent villas. Especially on the 6th, 17th and 18th tees which means a short iron is needed off the tee. Ladies tees were great for me but Richard (especially as a left handed player - don't think they considered this) didn't enjoy these holes.

We had a great holiday and would certainly visit again. Thanks again for your help.

We arrived back safely and had a great holiday. The weather was very mixed as we only managed 7 holes on the Monday due to very high winds and same again only did 9 on the Tuesday but we did enjoy the week. The hotel was lovely and staff very friendly so we might consider going again in 2023 but we might go later in the year.

The holiday went well, lovely place, nothing was to much trouble for the staff,golf tee times ran like clockwork, holiday ranked by us as in our top five, thanks for all you did at such short notice.

I can well imagine how difficult it must be for you during this situation.

We felt very safe & isolated from the world at the Elba Palace.  Initially we were disappointed with our rooms but after pointing out we had requested pool views the hotel moved us after a couple of days.

It is the second year we’ve been there & we were very well looked after by the friendly staff.  The food was an improvement on the previous year.  We never tire of the course even playing 7 times in 10 days.  The pool is also peaceful & relaxing when not golfing.

The only down side is the spa area.  We were very disappointed with it & a good steam room & sauna would be quite a benefit when playing a lot of golf.

Would we go again?  For my husband & I yes -  for us it is a good choice for guaranteed winter sun, challenging golf & good service without flying too far.

We were considering going to Mauritius next year but will wait for things to calm down a little before making any firm plans.

Yes, we are pleased we returned home before the sandstorm!

The Elba Palace and the golf week hosted by Mickey and Chris were excellent.  Our hotel room 225 was just as we had hoped for.  The golf course at the Elba Palace was in good condition but the Salinas golf course was not so good.

The second part of our holiday worked out well.  The hotel Atlantis Bahia Real was very spacious and in a great location, staff very helpful and friendly, our room 240 was as requested looking out over the sea;  very comfortable.

I hope these comments are useful and thank you again for your help in putting together our holiday.

The service offered by David and his company is second to none. From the start it was friendly, informative and professional. We stayed at the Elba Palace Golf and Vital Hotel. The hotel staff were excellent, the facilities very good with more provided that we were aware of, food also excellent as was the golf through out our stay. I shall be recommending Davids company and shall be booking again through Island Golf Holidays. It was the perfect holiday for us.

Thanks for the follow up mail, we were intending to email you anyway to thank you. Everything went very well from start to finish. Extra legroom seats on the flights were a real bonus, airport transfers were on time and the hotel was much as we remembered it with good quality food and accommodation. The golf course was in excellent condition and not too busy at the times we played so we managed to get round quite quickly. Weather was great too so all in all we had an excellent holiday.  Back to reality now but we will be in touch soon to discuss our next trip
